This unit provides the skills and knowledge required to prepare and submit electrical work applications following the Blue Book and Green Book relevant clauses. It includes understanding application purpose, completing forms, planning jobs, identifying hazards, and practical application writing.

Learning outcomes

After successfully completing this unit, a learner should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the principles and responsibilities of the applicant when making applications for work on various electrical apparatus.
  • Identify various types of Access Authorities which may be applied for on the Application Form and the associated information required.
  • Successfully prepare an application in relation to job planning, design criteria and resource requirements.

Learners are assessed using the following methods

  • Theory and written assessments.

Learners in this course are required:

  • To have basic literacy and numeracy skills so learners can understand the theory and assessments.
  • Hold the current certification in the required prerequisites.
  • Be sufficiently fit to participate in training. (especially if there are physical elements or field-work context)

On successful completion of this course, learners will receive a completion certificate.
