This unit is designed to provide workers with the skills and knowledge required to safely climb, move, and work on transmission and distribution towers while remaining continuously attached. It covers correct use of fall-arrest systems, attachment techniques, safe climbing methods, hazard identification, inspection of climbing equipment, emergency procedures, and maintaining three-point contact at all times.

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Course aim
On completion, learners will have the knowledge and skills to climb towers using the attached climbing method.

Persons required to climb and work at height on transmission powerline tower structures.

Learners in this course are required:
To have basic literacy and numeracy skills so learners can understand the theory and assessments.
Hold the current certification in the required prerequisites.
Be sufficiently fit to participate in training. (especially if there are physical elements or field-work context)
Accreditation status
On successful completion of this course, learners will receive a completion certificate.

Learners are required to have the following Personal Protective Equipment:
Safety helmet, safety footwear, high-visibility clothing, safety glasses and insulated gloves.
